What's Happening

I realize I've been quiet on the blog for the past month. This is because I just haven't felt up to trying to come up with a subject and none have just come to mind. What have I been doing? I've been busy working, scanning in some of Mom's old photo's, thinking about her, and have been busy with family. I suppose all the distractions are good for me at the moment but I look forward to getting some down time.

There are a few genealogical projects I'd like to work on, including the third edition of my Panther family history book, putting together a Miller family history book, writing up the story of Tom Doran for a book and/or a movie, and indexing all of the Moesbach, Ortenaukreis, Baden area church baptism, marriage and death records. I just haven't had time to focus on them.

This weekend, I look forward to the Greater Omaha Genealogical Society Spring Workshop. The subject is "Using DNA to Find Family" and Diahan Southard is the featured speaker. I've heard Diahan Southard speak on the Genealogy Gems Podcast and the Family Tree Magazine Podcast. She's a great speaker and I'm sure I'll enjoy listening to what she has to say.

My step-son, his wife, two cats and three dogs have been staying with us for the past month and a half. We're happy to have them in our home while their new home is being built but as you can imagine, it can be a bit overwhelming at times. Another three weeks and they'll be moving in to their new home. At that point, I hope we can take a nice relaxing vacation so I can get my thoughts together, get my priorities in order and be able to focus again.

    1. Thank you for the reminder! I've been wanting to start going to a few conferences. Other than the local LDS family history day, the GOGS conference is my first and I have just registered for both days of the Nebraska conference April 28-29. I look forward to meeting you!
