Miller Family History Book Published

I've just released my book containing my Miller family research. It's called "Johan Christian Müller, and the Liebrich Sisters - Their Descendants and Ancestors". I've made it available in both hardcover and paperback. While working on getting this book ready, I've also made my Panther family history book, "Moriz Panther and Elizabeth Birk - Their Descendants and Ancestors", available in paperback.

So here they are:
Johan Christian Müller, and the Liebrich Sisters - Their Descendants and Ancestors - Hardcover
Johan Christian Müller, and the Liebrich Sisters - Their Descendants and Ancestors - Paperback

Moriz Panther and Elizabeth Birk - Their Descendants and Ancestors - Hardcover
Moriz Panther and Elizabeth Birk - Their Descendants and Ancestors - Paperback

In addition, I've set a 15% discount for both editions of the Panther family history book. If you don't have one yet, this is a perfect time to get one.

The cover image of a sketch of a tree seemed an appropriate cover for my family history books for several reasons. First is the obvious family tree symbol. Second, this is the tree next to the river in Crapo Park in Burlington, Des Moines County, Iowa, where my mother's paternal grandfather moved to when he came to America in 1872. It has meaning on a personal level also. I proposed to my wife in front of this tree. She found the sketch at an antique store in Burlington the next day while I was researching family history in the library. This framed sketch has the notation “Free hand sketching – Oak at Crapo Park”.

I don't publish these books to get rich. It wouldn't happen regardless. I publish them so my research will stick around beyond the next few decades that I might live. If there are books in various family homes, libraries and genealogical societies, it means my research will live on long after I'm gone.

You can read about the basic process I used to put these books together here.

  1. I'm very interested in your book, however I'm hesitant to buy it. Is your "Miller" any relation to an ancestor of mine with the maiden name of "Mueller"?

But I applaud your intentions, I give you applause with a standing ovation. I recently came across a book written 40 some years ago that I previously didn't know existed. But it has a small part of my side of the family, and even includes photos of my grandmother as a small child, her parents and grandparents. I'm glad I found this book in a local library.

You work will be appreciated for a long long time.

  2. If you don't know that you are related to this Miller or Liebrich line, then I would not expect you to have an interest in this book. There are just so many Miller families out there that, unless you know you are related, you probably are not. If you don't know whether or not you are related or suspect you are, I encourage you to browse my blog and online family tree to see if you have a connection. I put this book out to document my known Miller family and preserve my research for future generations. I hope that one day I'll also be able to document my Menke, Harmeyer, Doran and Kelly families.
